Q. Can users without Sony cameras become a member? ソニー製のカメラを持っていない人でもメンバーになれますか？

A. Sure! We welcome anyone with love for photography or cameras. もちろんです。写真、カメラのどれかが好きな方であればどなたでも大歓迎です。

Q. Do submissions have to be taken with Sony cameras? Also, will photos taken with Sony cameras be preferred when selecting photographs? ソニー製のカメラで撮影した作品である必要はありますか？また、ソニー製のカメラで撮影された作品が優先されますか？

A. Yes. At Alpha Lenses, we only accept photos taken with Sony interchangeable-lens cameras "α" and "α" lenses. A. No. At Alpha Lenses, we only accept photos taken with Sony interchangeable-lens cameras "α" and "α" lenses. Also, please note that photos introduced on our Facebook page will only be photos taken with Sony interchangeable-lens cameras "α" and "α" lenses as well.

The user must warrant that the copyright of any material and portrait included in the submission belong to, or have been granted permission to use by its rights owner. A. No. We welcome everyone from all over the world and any photo taken anywhere. いいえ。「Alpha Lenses」は世界中のどなたでもご参加いただけます。作品も世界のどこで撮影された写真でも大歓迎です。

Q. Can I post monochrome photos? モノクロの写真も投稿して良いのですか？

Q. I don't own a camera. Can I be a member? カメラを持っていないのだけれどメンバーになれるの？

Q. Can I post a video? 動画を投稿しても良いの？

A. No. Although we may make changes in the future, we only accept still photos. Video submissions are not available at this moment. いいえ。将来はどうなるかわかりませんが、現時点では静止画のみの投稿を受け付けており、動画は投稿いただけません。

Q. Can I post a photo I've published elsewhere? 他で公開した写真を投稿しても良いですか？

A. Yes. You can post photos you have previously published elsewhere, as long as the photo belongs to you, and the photo does not violate Alpha Lenses' guidelines and Facebook's terms of service. はい。ご自身が著作権を保有されていて「Alpha Lenses」、及びFacebookの規約に違反していない写真であれば公開済みの作品であっても大歓迎です。

Q. Can I post photos that have been post-processed or HDR processed? PCアプリを使ったポストプロセスやHDR加工や合成などの加工した作品を投稿して良いのでしょうか？

A. Sure! At Alpha Lenses, we welcome any post-processed photo as long as the image has been originally taken with a camera. We believe that post-processing images, taken with digitalized cameras, on PCs, is a wonderful part of the evolution of current cameras.
However, please note, images and 3DCG created from scratch, do not match the intentions of Alpha Lenses. はい。当ページではカメラで撮影をした後に加工したものであればそうした写真も大歓迎です。カメラがデジタル化され現像プロセスをPCなどで各自が行えるようになったこともカメラの進化・変化で、それも含めて今のカメラの楽しみ方だと私たちは考えています。なお、全てを人為的に作成した画像や3DCGはサイトの主旨と異なりますのでご遠慮ください。

Q. I have a photo taken at a photography prohibited area. I want many people to see it. Can I submit such photos? 撮影禁止場所に入って撮影した写真だが、たくさんの方に見てもらいたいので投稿してもよいですか？

A. No. Please take the utmost caution to protect photography rules and take appropriate safety measures when taking your photo. We only accept photos that abide by these rules.

When we find an inappropriate photo, we will delete or hide the photo, and/or in some cases block the photographer. Please be careful. 申し訳ございません。周囲の方の迷惑にならないよう、知識とゆとりを持って、 あくまでもルールを守って、安全な方法で撮影をされた作品のみをご投稿ください。

Q. I have a problem uploading my photo. 写真の投稿が上手くできない。

A. For detailed descriptions to posting on Alpha Lenses, please refer to our "Submission Form". If you are posting from your mobile phone, please check the status of your internet connection, and try again later, or try from a different location. 投稿方法は「Alpha Lenses」の作品投稿方法をご覧ください。なお、携帯からの投稿の場合は通信状況にも大きく影響されますので、しばらく待つか、別の場所からの投稿をお試しください。

Q. How do I see all of the photos submitted to Alpha Lenses? 投稿されたすべての写真を見るにはどうすればいいですか？

A. Although we may make changes in the future, at this moment, photos submitted to Alpha Lenses are not public until our managers introduce them on our timeline. You can, however, see all photos introduced on Alpha Lenses's timeline from the "Photos" link in our Facebook page navigation menu.

Q. I want members to include information of their shooting location. 作品には撮影場所、設定、機材を記載して欲しい。

A. At Alpha Lenses, we’d love our members to post the location and time of year their photo was taken, but this is not a requirement. We prefer our members to be able to post their photo casually. 申し訳ございません。撮影場所や設定については、現時点では投稿してくださる方が自主的に記入いただくのは歓迎していますが、これらの記入を投稿の条件とはしない方針です。また、撮影機材については、Exif情報を必ず残した状態のデータでのご投稿をお願いしておりますので、その情報をもとに、運営から作品をご紹介させていただく際に撮影機材を記載させていただく可能性はございます。

Q. This photo looks like it has been taken by trespassing a restricted area. I think this is a breach of photographing manners, and I want to point this out/accuse the photographer. この作品は撮影禁止場所に入って撮影をしたように見える。撮影マナーを守ってないように見えるのでコメント欄でそのことを指摘/糾弾したい。

A. Please hold on. Is the photo really taken from a restricted area? Is the shooting procedure really a breach of manners? It may not be what you think. If you are not absolutely sure, do not accuse the photographer. Please ask for the details of the photo instead.

We understand that bad manners of some photographers are a big issue and we are against such behavior. However, at Alpha Lenses and Tokyo Camera Club, photos shared by our staff are viewed by thousands of people. Same with comments you post on photos.

Consequently, if your accusation is false, you will be defaming the photographer’s honor and dignity in front of thousands of people. And the photographer will not be able to clarify his/her position without knowing that his/her photo has been shared by our staff. We need to prevent this by any means.

So, please do not accuse the photographer based on assumptions that may be false.

If we find such comments, our staff will delete them based on our decisions. In case of serious offense, we will have to block your activity on Alpha Lenses. それは本当に不適切な撮影ですか？そう見えているだけではありませんか？確証が無ければ質問にとどめてください。

運営としても撮影時のマナーに問題がある方がいらっしゃることは認識していますし、そうした撮影には反対しています。しかしながら、運営がご紹介した作品はたくさんの方がご覧になりますので、その作品に投稿なさるコメントも相当数の方に届きます。

その結果、指摘/糾弾なさったコメントが思い込みによるものであった場合は、撮影者が紹介されたことに気付くまでの間、投稿された方は何の対応もできない状態の中、大変多くの方の前で誹謗中傷に晒され、名誉、信頼を深く傷つけられる可能性があるのです。これは何としても避けなければなりません。

Q. This photo looks like environmental destruction/animal-abuse. I think the photographing procedure is disturbing, and I want to point this out/accuse the photographer. この作品は環境破壊、動物虐待を行って撮影した作品に見える。撮影方法が不適切に見えるのでコメント欄でそのことを指摘/糾弾したい。

A. Please hold on. Is it really environmental destruction/animal-abuse? Is the photographing procedure really disturbing? It may not be what you think. If you are not absolutely sure, do not accuse the photographer. Please ask for the details of the photo instead.

At Alpha Lenses and Tokyo Camera Club, photos shared by our staff are viewed by thousands of people. Same with comments you post on photos.

A. Unfortunately, we cannot answer questions regarding individual posts. Also, photos submitted through our submission form will not appear on Alpha Lenses' visitors post area. Q. Why don't you share my post? 私の投稿はなぜ紹介されないのですか？

A. First of all, please check that you have not watermarked your photo with a URL in large font. (Crediting or watermarking your photo is OK.) If your photo does include a URL, we may have decided not to introduce your photo due to its advertising nature.

Regarding our selection criteria, the guidelines should serve as a reference. (If your photo violate our guidelines, it will not be shared on our page.) Alpha Lenses has several sister pages you may want to consider posting at. The Japanese version of "Tokyo Camera Club", the English version of "Tokyo Camera Club""NEKO Club (Cat Club)", "INU Club (Dog Club)", "Sora no Shashinkan (Sky Photo Studio)", "FINE ART TOKYO", "Fuji no Shashinkan (Fuji Photo Studio)", "Omoide ni +me (Memories and Me)", and My iPhoneography. Each page has their own theme. If your photo matches one of these themes, we may share your photo on our sister site.

If there is a specific theme you would like to see, but not included above, please send us a message. We will carefully consider creating a new sister page for everyone to enjoy. まず始めに、写真自体に大きくURLを記入していないか（クレジット記載は問題ございません）をご確認ください。こちらに該当する場合は広告投稿として紹介を控えさせていただいている可能性があります。

Q. Is there a specific timeframe for photos being shared? 何時までに投稿した作品が運営に紹介されるのですか？

A. We don't know about the future, but at this moment, we do not have a specific sharing timeframe or deadline. This is the same with all of our Facebook pages. We don't only share recent posts, so there will always be a chance for your post to be shared. 将来は分かりませんが、現状では特段期限は設けていません。いずれのページにおいても、直近の物だけを対象にしている訳ではありません。いつか紹介させていただく可能性はございます。

Q. Can I "Like", comment, or share a post? 投稿されている写真に「いいね！」、コメント、シェアをしても良いのでしょうか？

A. Sure! Members who post on our Facebook page, assume their posts will be "Liked", commented (excluding being advised or criticized), and shared by other members. はい。ぜひお願いします。当ページに投稿されている方は、投稿されたすべての写真に皆様から「いいね！」、コメント（写真へのアドバイスは別です）、シェアをしていただくことを前提とされています。

Q. Do I need permission to share a photo? Do I need to comment that I will be sharing? 投稿されている写真をシェアする際には事前に許可を得る、又はコメントでシェアすることを書き込む必要がありますか？

A. No. We encourage casual sharing. We believe the easiness of sharing is a great feature of Facebook. We welcome comments too, but you do not have to comment to get permission when sharing a post. Sharing without commenting is not rude at all.
If you think people should comment or get permission before sharing a post… we're sorry, this place is not for you. Please do not participate in our activities. And please do not criticize people for casually sharing posts. A. All photos are copyrighted. We expect everyone to protect the copyrights of others. 紹介された全ての写真には著作権がございますので適切な対応をお願いします。

Q. I want to share a great photo I found, so more people can enjoy it. But I am not its owner. 自分の写真ではないけれど良い写真があるので投稿して皆さんに知ってもらいたい。

A. All photos are copyrighted. Facebook's "Statement of Rights and Responsibilities prohibits users from posting content that violates another party's intellectual property rights". So, please do not post photos you do not own. 全ての写真には著作権がございます。そもそもFacebookでは「第三者の知的所有権を侵害するような素材を投稿することを禁止しています」。つまり、無断で自分に所有権のない写真を投稿することは禁止されていますので遵守願います。
